The 4th Grade Girls Volleyball Teams were treated to a special visit to Rockhurst University last week. Sion’s own Coach Rebecca is Dr. Saxton by day- She’s an Associate Professor of Nursing at Research College of Nursing, and invited the 4th Graders to a special pre-game meet up with the RU team. The girls enjoyed a pizza dinner before watching the RU team play.

The volleyball girls were really great against St. James on Monday, September 28 at Sion. The whole match the players served, passed, and hit the ball well the girls made each play better than the last. I never seen the girls click so well together. Even though we lost the match this was a good loss. I am proud of each of the girls and they all did something different to help out in this game. If they keep playing this way we will not lose many game this season our over record is 2 - 2. Wow, what a night of volleyball!

The 8th grade A team had a fantastic night of volleyball at St. Charles School! Both matches were hard fought and Sion came out on top in three games at 7 p.m. against St. Elizabeth and 8 p.m. against home team, St. Charles. School spirit was high and sportsmanship was key. The whole team worked together and played some fantastic volleyball. Some highlights include amazing blocks by Delilah Chavis and killer serves by Inaya Khan. The Lions play again next week at Visitation on Tuesday, September 29 at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The 6th grade girls volleyball team lost both games verses Visitation on Saturday, September 19. The girls started out the first game strong, getting out to an early lead but let the game slip away at the end. The team as a whole is consistently getting their serves over and doing a better job with team effort.

The 4th grade girls volleyball team has made such progress since their first practice. A big thank you to Simone Hollins and Matt Riggs for keeping score and line judging.

Congratulations to the 7th grade girls volleyball team who placed 2nd in the St. John Lalande pre-season tournament! Go Sion!
